| OUR NAME |
| 'Nongkhai' is the name of a 'chungwat' (province) in north-eastern Thailand, the northern border of which is formed by the 'Me-nahm Kong' (the Mekong River). Across the Mekong lies the country of 'Lao' (Laos). 'Jai' is the Thai word for 'heart', and 'yen' means 'cool', so 'Jai Yen' literally means 'cool heart', reflective of the calm approach to life adopted by most Thai people. |
