A trip to Thailand often includes a stay in Bangkok, the
southern beach resorts of Phuket or
Koh Samui, or Chiang Mai in the north.
While our photo trip includes Bangkok, itself a city
considered not to be missed, especially for the
first-time traveller, it also includes a visit to several places of
special historical interest, as well as
the opportunity of spending time in a Thai countryside village
and experiencing something of
traditional Thai life.

The places we visit may include:

place of nails, Jim Thompson's House, re-assembled
from 6 dismantled traditional Thai houses,

An evening trip on a converted rice barge on
the Chao Phraya River is included.

of Ayutthaya. This city was once the capital of
Thailand, or Siam as it was known at the time. Nowadays, it is a
World Heritage Site, where the
ruins of several hundred temples and other buildings may be
found. We will visit Wat Mahathat,
Wat Phra Ram, Wat Phra Sri San Phet, the Reclining
Buddha at Wat Lokaya Suttha,
and Wat Chai Watthanaram.
The bridge over the Kwai River in Kanchanaburi.
The town of Bungkhan in the north-east and Wat Putarch.
We visit a countryside village in
